January 31 2007 - Factory Girl's steamy love scene between Hayden and Sienna is making headlines today but in comments made at the Santa Barbara Film Festival to Ted Casablanca of E!, Sienna Miller had this to say about the scene in question and sex scenes in general:
"I think the love scenes are never easy...it's never a comfortable thing to do when you have a camera crew," she said of their nearly naked scenes. "It's not at all sexy—at all."
So, what's the secret to making it look hot? "You try to really connect with the person you're in the scene with," she explained. "You look at each other and say, 'This is uncomfortable, let's just do the best we can.' And then you giggle in between takes and go, 'Omigod, this is so weird.' "
"You don't try to get turned on," she continued. "I've never heard of any actor who said they really got horny in a love scene—it just doesn't happen." Source (thanks to Nara for the link)

January 26, 2007 - Opening Night Blather - "If you'd seen last night's premiere of Factory Girl, the tragic tale of local lost soul Edie Sedgwick, you'd understand why I took the Durls' advice to heart. While the adorable Sienna Miller was fantastic as Sedgwick, Guy Pearce classic as Andy Warhol, and Hayden Christensen spot-on as Bob Dylan -- the flick was dark, a dizzying glimpse at a wild ride that spirals quickly downward, into a sadly cliched abyss." January 25, 2007 - "As the Bob Dylan-like troubadour who sings his way into Sedgwick’s heart, Hayden Christensen is the film’s voice of reason. The singer is the only one to see through Warhol’s pretense, challenging his reality with honesty. You could cut the tension in the room with a knife when the singer casually mentions that even his grandmother can stack Brillo boxes in her basement, but that doesn’t make them art.
Even though the singer is never mentioned by name, if it looks like a duck, talks like a duck, and sings like a duck, then it’s probably Bob Dylan. Christensen doesn’t imitate the singer as much as capture his presence." More
