July 30, 2007 - Factory Girl at French Film Fest - According to a post on the IMDB Factory Girl message board by Roger o Thornhill (aka George Hickenlooper) Factory Girl has been invited to compete at the Deauville Film Festival, the Festival of American Films scheduled for September 5, 2007.

July 30, 2007 - Jumper - Steven Gould , the author of Jumper, posted to his blog that Jumper has an official website up.

July 24, 2007 - Awake UK Test Screening - Warning! Warning! Spoilers! - Ain't it Cool News has a review from an audience participant who saw Awake at a UK test screening. Awake is a pshychological thriller dealing with anesthesia awareness and the drama surrounding the main characters. If you don't want to unravel the mystery until you've seen it for yourself don't read this review. I just hope a US release date will be announced soon. The reviewer had some good things to say about Hayden's performance.

"....the only person that steals the show is Christensen, and the actress who plays his mother."

"Overall the movie is Hayden Christensen's movie, hes funny, charming and we will definitely see more of him in the future."

"I give this movie a thumbs up. I enjoyed it with my friends and it was a good ride. What impressed me was Hayden Christensen and even the director Joby Harold who made a good debut."

July 20, 2007 - Jumper Prequel Comic Series - The writing team of Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir will be promoting their upcoming comic mini series, Jumpscars, at the San Diego Comic Con. The comic series is a prequel based on a significant event in the past of Diane Lane's character from Jumper. Diane Lane plays Mary, the mother of Hayden Christensen's character Davy, in the movie set for release February 15, 2008. Read more at the writer's blog

July 19, 2007 - Comic Con Update - Twentieth Century Fox has pulled it's movie presentation from participation in this year's Comic Con. The Fox lineup was to include a preview of the Doug Liman directed movie Jumper starring Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson. According to articles from Movieweb and the LA Times, Fox said that the movies weren't ready to preview. After the initial announcement, Fox later said they still hoped to have some kind of surprise ready for convention goers.

"Sean Dudas, Fox's vice president of national publicity, stated, "Fox is not going to be able to participate in Comic-Con this year. The material wasn't ready and we only want to go out when we can put our best foot forward. July 18, 2007 - Hayden in Beverly Hills - Celebrities.com is reporting that Paparazzi Henry spoke briefly to Hayden and other celebrities at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills on July 17th. Hayden was out with friends enjoying dinner and signed a few autographs. Celebrity.com

July 17, 2007 - Factory Girl Out on DVD - Factory Girl is now available from Amazon.com, Best Buy and Target and other stores where DVDs are sold. It is available for rental only from Blockbuster online and your local Blockbuster stores. I was told by the saleperson at my Blockbuster that the DVD will only be available for rental and not for purchase. The Factory Girl DVD from Blockbuster has exclusive content not available elsewhere. According to the director's post from the Internet Movie Database the exclusive content is a behind the scenes look at the New York and Santa Barbara premieres. On an interesting note........all copies had already been checked out at my local Blockbuster on the first day!

July 16, 2007 - No Jumper at Comic Con? - Jumper is no longer listed as one of several films to be presented at the convention by Twentieth Century Fox. Last week Comic Con posted that exclusive footage from Jumper was to be presented by cast and filmmakers on Friday July 27th but it has now been removed from the program. There have been no website updates posted about why Jumper was removed. Comic Con

July 14, 2007 - SFX Fan Expo Canada -Fan Expo Canada to Host WSVG August 24-26 at Metro Toronto Convention Center - "Fan Expo will welcome over 50,000 fans over the course of three days. Events taking place during Canada Fan Expo include the Canadian National Comic Book Expo, CNAnime, SFX Science Fiction Expo, Festival of Fear Horror Expo and GX-the Canadian National Gaming Expo. The World Cyber Games will also be present, holding their Canadian Qualifiers during the Expo. In addition to many artists from the worlds of comics and anime, dozens of celebrities will be on hand for autograph signings for the event, including Hayden Christensen (Star Wars), Adam West (Batman), Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek) and the Red vs. Blue creative team." July 11, 2007 - Virgin Territory Update- Bad tidings and it's not about the Black Plague - Virgin Territory is no longer on the Weinsteins list of upcoming movies and according to Coming Soon.net the movie release date is now TBA 2008. What a shame to have to wait. The visuals from the production stills we've seen so far have fans very eager to see the movie.

July 11, 2007 - SFX Fan Expo Update - Hobbystar has updated the ticket information with a notice that "An Afternoon with Hayden Christensen" has sold out. Tickemaster also has the same notice on their website. To check for updates and schedule changes always check the Hobbystar SFX website for more information.

July 9, 2007 - Jumper at Comic Con - The San Diego Comic Con schedule has been posted at their official website. The convention is scheduled for 4 days from July 26-29, 2007. Twentieth Century Fox will present an exclusive look at some of their upcoming films including Jumper. Screening of the footage is scheduled for Friday July 27th from 12:15 to 2:00 pm and will be presented by the cast and filmmakers.

July 6, 2007 - Virgin Territory - According to Box Office Mojo, the theatrical release date for Virigin Territory has changed but a new date is not available. The last release date was September 21, 2007 and has not been changed on the Weinstein Company website.

July 4, 2007 - Factory Girl - Film Festival - Czech Repulic - June 29-July 7, 2007 - Factory Girl had a screening at the 42nd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on July 2 as part of the Horizons program which presents films that have generated interest among foreign audiences and critics or received awards at other film festivals or as special distribution advance premieres. Cast member Meredith Olstrom who plays Nico in Factory Girl was in attendance for the Horizons event to make the introductions at the screening on Monday.Horizons Screenings Factory Girl at KVIFF

July 3, 2007 - Industry News - The Hollywood Reporter (June 19, 2007) - "It was one of the biggest successes in animation history, a picture [Ice Age: The Meltdown] that earned more than $650 million at the worldwide boxoffice. It is because of this and such global hits as "Night at the Museum" ($322 million outside North America), "The Devil Wears Prada" ($201 million) and "Eragon" ($174 million) that Fox International was the top grosser at the overseas boxoffice last year, earning the studio The Hollywood Reporter's International Boxoffice Achievement Award, to be presented at Cine Expo.

This summer, in addition to the just-released "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," Fox has "Live Free or Die Hard" (internationally it will be called "Die Hard 4.0") and "The Simpsons Movie." Nearly six months after the state approved new cash incentives to lure movie, TV and commercial filming to the state, three productions have taken advantage of the offer, said Janet Lockwood, director of the Michigan Film Office."
